Yoga Therapy for Adults

Each session is provided on an individual basis (unless otherwise specified by the client) and involves a combination of aromatherapy, learning stress management techniques such as deep relaxation, meditation, personalized yoga postures, visualizations and affirmations. Each session facilitates greater physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Lara addresses a wide range of therapeutic issues including back and neck problems, anxiety, depression, insomnia, trauma, cancer, chronic pain, heart disease and addictions. She tailors her sessions to meet the needs of her clients, encouraging them to deeply connect to their true nature--peace and love.

 

Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a form of meditative self-inquiry from the teachings of yoga. This guided lying down meditation induces mental calm, physical ease and deep brain wave states in which old unhealthy patterns can be deconstructed and replaced with new, self affirming patterns. Benefits include: deep relaxation throughout the body and mind, heightened ability to manage stress, overcoming insomnia, resolve trauma, shift negative conditioning and/or addictive tendencies and overcome anxiety and fear. Yoga Nidra guides us into a deep meditative state which reveals our true nature.

 

Therapy for Emotional Health and Addictive Tendencies

Lara specializes in Yoga Therapy for Addiction, Anxiety, Depression and Stress Management. Addictive behaviors--the drive to seek pleasure and avoid pain--hinder our physical, emotional and spiritual growth and leaves us ill equipped to deal with stress. Yoga Therapy is a conduit for treating the spiritual malady of addiction by teaching us how to observe the mind, listen to the body and experience emotions without reacting to them. Yoga therapy facilitates the process of returning to our true nature---peace and love--thereby reconnecting us to our higher self/power. Lara utilizes yoga therapy to treat anxiety and depression which can be debilitating factors in one’s life

 

Torah Yoga

Torah Yoga combines the practice of yoga (using body and breath) with traditional and mystical Jewish wisdom. It is a way to experience yourself through the study of meditation, Jewish wisdom and yoga. The wisdom from these two traditions helps  to integrate mind, body and soul.

Yoga Therapy for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults
Yoga therapy offers a mind-body approach to directly address self -regulation, attention, anxiety and emotional reactivity in youth. Children learn movement, meditation, relaxation and breathing techniques to self-regulate and manage strong emotions which leads to healthier decision-making and improved relationships. Yoga movements stimulate and integrate areas of the brain involved with learning and attention and enhance children's ability to concentrate and remain focused. Gaining strength and deeper awareness of self leads to an increase in self-confidence.

Yoga In-Service for Teachers and Staff
You will learn yoga-based exercises designed for the classroom that integrate and energize mind-body in 10-15 minutes. These exercises require no prior experience, no extra space or equipment, support behavior management and enhance focus, concentration and communication (www.yogaed.com). Yoga Ed’s Tools for Teachers Professional Development Training is a nationally recognized, cost effective program designed to improve mental health and responsible behavior. Teachers will learn how to use these yoga-based activities to support and center themselves as well as create calm, focus, and optimal learning readiness in their classroom. Lara can also visit your school and teach classes for your students during the day and for staff after school!
